Mary started swimming at a very young age and had swimming lessons through elementary and middle school. She made good progress and began taking lessons with one of the top swimmers on the University of Arkansas Women’s Swim Team. That Training got her onto the USA National Special Olympics Team, representing Arkansas. She was subsequently recruited onto her high school swim team. During High School meets, she achieved qualifying times for Team USADSS.
